Spur Cross Desert Oasis Watering Hole

Harmony Hollow borders the Spur Cross Ranch Conservation Area which has a desert watering hole for wildlife. They capture everything from skunks to this mountain lion!

Do you see the little frog eyes, hoping he’s not a late night snack?

We’d considered a water feature for the Harmony Hollow property but thought again once we saw this. They’re giant and we don’t want to be attracting predators. We’re glad though, that they have a place to grab a little drink deep into the trails.

Anyone who has lived in the desert knows to always be cautious though. Mountain lions have a 40 mile range, and the entire town of Cave Creek is well within this guy’s territory.

Also, check out the video of this little bobcat on their facebook page. He fell in the water trying to get away from a rattlesnake. You can hear the rattler continuing to make itself known. Welcome to the wild west!
